I
think most people know the Norwegian Aeternus, because the
band did gigs in the past with Cannibal Corpse, Emperor
and Deicide, and because they've released some
great albums. For the people that don't know them,
Aeternus is a mixture of black metal and doomy death
metal. 'Burning The Shroud' isn't the official successor
of 'Shadows Of Old', but this cd includes all of the great
songs by Aeternus that they have released in the past,
with some special songs on it and one new song from the in
March coming new album. The new song is a rough titlesong,
this mix will only be available on 'Burning The Shroud'.
The songs 'Midnatt Storm' and 'Raven And Blood' from 1999
were not on 'Shadows Of Old'. Only 'Midnatt Storm' doesn't
sound familiar to me, but 'Raven And Blood' already was
released on their debut mini-cd 'Dark Sorcery' from 1995.
It's realy a bit strange that 'Midnatt Storm' wasn't on
'Shadows Of Old' it's a great song. This cd also includes
some good live songs like the songs 'When The Crows Shadow
Falls' and 'To Enter The Realm Of Legend'. And the songs
'Dark Rage', 'Fire And Wind' from the 1998 limited
picture-disc single and the song 'In The Darkest Circles
Of Time' this song already was included as bonustrack on
the re-release from the 'Dark Sorcery' mini-cd and on the
limited tour-edition cd 'And So The Night Became'. Nice
cd, but were we are really waiting for is the real new cd.
Oooh yeah, the cd has a total time of 50 minutes and is
saled as midprice.
