After
ten years and six studio albums after the album 'Eaten
Back To Life' Metal Blade decided to release a live album
from death metal freaks Cannibal Corpse. The 'Live
Cannibalism' was recorded during the American tour this
year (2000). From the twelve songs on this album are four
songs from the recent album 'Bloodthirst' like 'The Spine
Splitter' and 'Dead Human Collection', three songs are
from the album 'Gallery Of Suicide' like 'Disposal Of The
Human Body' and 2 songs from the album 'Vile' like
'Devoured By Vermin' and 'Perverse Suffering'. That means
that there is only place anymore for three old songs from
the period with Chris Barnes, and that will be 'Staring
Through The Eyes Of The Dead', 'Stripped, Raped and
Strangled' and 'Fucked With A Knife all from the album
'The Bleeding'. I think most of you only will like the
recent stuff, but great live-songs like 'Hammer Smashed
Face' and 'A Skull Full Of Maggots' aren't included and
that's too bad. But gladly this made good by the great
sound on 'Live Cannibalism' with no overdubs! And the
beautifal covers of 'Sacrifice' (from the Canadian
cultband) and 'Confessions' (from Possessed', these
covers may not be included with every album because this
review was made on base of a German version.
