After
the previous album 'Adimiron Black' (1998) from the
Norwegian black metal band Gehenna, Gehenna came with a
new album named 'Murder'. Gehenna had with the previous a
sort of atmosferic black metal that could break through
just like Dimmu-Borgir did but, now they have
changed their black metal style to death/thrash/black
metal, a bit of a weird anti-commercial action. The guitar
riffs sometimes even sound like Morbid Angel, but
also like their landmates Mayhem. 'The Crucified
One' and 'Trail Of Blood' are examples of songs that
include Morbid Angel riffs, and the evil song
'Perfect Hate' includes Mayhem sound. The fast 'To The
Grave' includes a huge amount of Slayer sound. With
the weird vocals the cd is totally complete.
Conclusion
this cd isn't a very bad cd, but I think the previous
album 'Adimiron Black' of Gehenna was better... With some
bands you can buy the album blind, but with the new
Gehenna album is a time listening to it a good
advice!
