is the new vocalist, are his vocals just as brutal?
Our new vocalist is actually our
original vocalist, Wayne Knupp. He is every bit as brutal as
Ruben, they both have very similar styles
Is
Ruben still in jail?
Yeah unfortunately.
He's been in there for almost 2 years now, but he is getting out in October.
We write eachother though,
he is doing alright.
Will
Ruben be rejoining the band, or is he officially out of the band?
Yes, he was never out of the band. He and Wayne are
actually old friends. I can't wait to hear those two sing together, it's gonna
be fucken sick.
Is
the new album almost ready?
We have not gone in the studio yet, but the new
songs are pretty much done. We hope to have it out by the fall.
What
will be the name of the album?
The new album will be called "Butcher the
Weak" and you can expect a more in your face, less bullshit record than
"Molesting.."
Can you already tell me some song-titles?
Babykiller, Auto-Erotic Asphyxiation, Tomb of
Scabs, Bitch in a Ditch, to name a few, I don't want to give them all away.
Is
the next album just as brutal?
Dude it's gonna be the most brutal thing ever fucken
recorded. We got alot of cool ideas to make the production almost too heavy to
stand. The lyrics will be sicker and more offensive, and there will be some
truly sick sleeve art.
Are
members of the group involved in any projects?
Not
really. Most of us are very busy with work and school.
The
intro of 'Festering Vomitious Mass' who is that guy that's talking?
It was an interview
Ruben got a hold of. It's like Geraldo talking to some guy that like killed his
family or some shit. I forgot his fucken name though, Ruben knows it.
The
front of 'Molesting The Decapitated' is it taken from the movie 'Resurrection'?
No,
it's actually some shit Ruben found in a book of an artist who actually takes
photos of dead people on weird settings. It was the same guy that did the cover
of Pungent Stench's first album, "Been Caught Buttering". I think the
dude is from Germany or some shit.
What
can we expect of Devourment in the future?
The new CD, new shirts and merch. and
hopefully some out of state shows.
