Can you tell me something about the history of Psycroptic?
Psycroptic
formed in early 1999, with Cameron on bass, Dave on drums, Matthew on vocals and
Joe on guitar. We all came from other Tasmanian metal bands that had split up
(or were going to). We were together for about 6 months before we played our
first gig, then we layed low for a while (so to speak) to write some more songs.
After about a year together, we started to play gigs faily regulary which
included supports with other well known Australian bands such as Dreadnaught,
Atomizer and Alarum. In mid 2000, we decided to record something...but we were
not sure whether to release it as a tape or cd. After we recorded and mastered
it (in october/november) we decided it was good enough to be released as a cd.

How is Psycroptic doing lately?
Things have been going OK for us...the
cd is getting some very good feedback, and we have been doing a few interviews,
which is always good to do. We have been asked to play at a few big Australian
metal fests, which will be great for us. At the moment we are writing new songs,
and promoting the cd as best we can....so we are faily busy which is good.
What can we expect of you in the future?
In future we plan to futher promote
Psycroptic, and work hard to write the best material we can. Our new songs are
sounding (in my opinion) far better to the songs on the cd - more intense, but
with the Psycroptic sound. Some more gigs are planned in the future, but its
hard for us to travel interstate to play due to the costs involved and work
commitments for people in the band. Hopefully in the near future we will have
some merchandise for sale (t-shirts, etc), and we are starting up a mailing

Are there any projects involved with
the bandmembers?
Psycroptic is our main band, but a couple of us play in some
different bands in Hobart (a city in Tasmania). I (Dave) play in a
metal/hardcore/drinking band called Mindless Violence....this is just a bit of
fun with some of my good friends, its not very serious. I also (occasionally)
play in another band called cheesegrater of chastity (also with Matthew of
Psycroptic), which is a weird death/grind/black/hardcore band. This also is a
bit of fun. Matthew plays drums in a grind/death band called MSI. Joe and
Cameron don't play in any other bands.
Is there any merchandising available?
Currently, our cd is the only thing we have to sell. Its available for $10US or
$15Australian postpaid worldwide. The disc is a 9 song full length cd. You can
